"As for me, may I never boast about anything except the cross of our Lord Jesus Christ."
(Galatians 6:14, NLT)
When we gather for worship at Corinth, we desire to glorify God, honor Jesus Christ, and respond to the Word of God as a church family. Our prayer is that the Holy Spirit will enable each worshiper to encounter personally the presence and power of the one true God.
Our Reformed tradition places the Bible at the heart of all our worship experiences. Sermons in all three services generally are based on the same Scripture passage on any given Sunday. Pastors work together through the week to prepare messages that are both biblical and relevant. We encourage worshipers to bring their own Bibles or use the pew Bibles provided in the sanctuary.
Although we worship in three services and two locations, we are one church family. Sunday School classes, church programs, fellowship activities, and small groups on Sunday morning and through the week help our church family members to relate to one another and build community regardless of which worship service they attend.
Worship Service Overview
Note: On the 5th Sunday of a month, all services combine into
Fifth Sunday Family.
8:30 Sonrise
8:30 Sonrise at Corinth meets in the sanctuary each week except for fifth Sundays. Communion is celebrated on the first Sunday of each month.
8:30 Sonrise incorporates of a wide range of Christian worship music. We come expecting to hear and sing songs, hymns, and instruments that range from the sacred traditional to various forms of Christian contemporary.
We intend for this service to be relaxed and reverent, but also joyful and alive. All three pastors lead 8:30 Sonrise, sharing their gifts through music, preaching, and prayer.
"The best thing for me is to see all the people, particularly the younger people, so into the service and so much freer to express themselves than I am comfortable doing."
- former "traditional" worshiper
"I love hearing insights from both Paul and Bob, and I especially love the music. I like how there is a mixture of both praise and worship songs as well as some traditional hymns."
- former "contemporary" worshiper

11:00 Traditional
11:00 Traditional at Corinth meets in the sanctuary each week except for fifth Sundays. Communion is celebrated quarterly, on the same Sunday as 11:00 Contemporary.
The Gothic architecture of our sanctuary is designed to overwhelm the worshiper with the greatness and majesty of God. The pipe organ and Chancel Choir lead our musical worship most Sundays at 11:00 Traditional, with special music also provided from time to time by brass, strings, hand bells, and other classical instruments and voices. Hymns appropriate to each Sunday's theme are chosen from our 1941 Reformed hymnal as well as Corinth's own hymnal supplement to reflect a wide variety of hymn traditions.
Each Sunday in 11:00 Traditional begins with a special children's message. The service also makes use of some common liturgical elements to connect us to the church universal -- the Lord's Prayer ("debts"), the Apostles' Creed, the Doxology, and, on most Sundays, the corporate Confession of Sin.

11:00 Contemporary
11:00 Contemporary at Corinth meets in the Fellowship Hall each week except for fifth Sundays. Communion is celebrated quarterly, on the same Sunday as 11:00 Traditional.
The artwork above pictures the cross swept by the power of the Holy Spirit, represented by wind. This service seeks to open worshipers and worship leaders to a breath of Spirit-led fresh air.
An informal atmosphere, a casual style of dress and a free expression of standing, clapping, and raising hands will often be found among our worshipers in 11:00 Contemporary. The worship and preaching are creative and contemporary -- often using visual, participatory, and dramatic elements.
11:00 Contemporary incorporates special times of prayer, opportunities for extravagant welcome and fellowship, and upbeat music led by a vocal team, guitars, drums, and keyboard. Bring your smile and your heart to 11:00 Contemporary. Let go and allow the Holy Spirit to release your heart through vibrant praise and heartfelt response.

Fifth Sunday Family
When a calendar month has five Sundays (about four times each year), the Corinth family gathers in the sanctuary for Fifth Sunday Family at 11:00. It's a time to set aside our usual worship styles and reconnect as a church body.
There's usually some important family business to take care of at the Fifth Sunday Family service. For example, we receive new members at this service, because new members join the whole church family -- not just one worship service. It's a special time to gather and bond in the spirit of Ephesians 4:4-5 -- "There is one body and one Spirit…one Lord, one faith, one baptism."
